Configure IPv6 on your VPS

Check that the IPv6 address and gateway in your OS match the control panel, with a Netplan example for Ubuntu.

Every Servitro VPS gets an IPv6 /64. Most images configure it automatically. If IPv6 doesn't work, the address or gateway in your operating system usually doesn't match the control panel.

1. Find your IPv6 details

Open your server in the control panel and note the IPv6 address and the IPv6 gateway shown there.

2. Compare with your system

ip -6 addr show
ip -6 route show default

The address and the default route (gateway) must match the panel exactly.

3. Example: Netplan on Ubuntu

Edit your Netplan file (for example /etc/netplan/50-cloud-init.yaml). Replace the example addresses with the values from your control panel:

network:
  version: 2
  ethernets:
    eth0:
      addresses:
        - 203.0.113.10/24
        - 2001:db8:1234:5678::10/64
      routes:
        - to: default
          via: 203.0.113.1
        - to: "::/0"
          via: "2001:db8::1"
          on-link: true
      nameservers:
        addresses: [1.1.1.1, 2606:4700:4700::1111]

Apply and test:

sudo netplan apply
ping -6 -c 4 google.com

Still not working?

Restart the VPS from the control panel (why) and test again. If it still fails, open a ticket with the output of the two commands from step 2.
