Plans

Plans that fit

Minecraft needs fast cores and enough RAM. The Ryzen plan has the highest single-core speed; the EPYC plans give you more RAM for modpacks and bigger groups.

Minecraft VPS

What your Minecraft server gets

  • Fast cores

Minecraft's main game loop runs on one core, so clock speed matters. The Ryzen 9 9950X boosts up to 5.7 GHz.

  • RAM for your world

From 4 GB for a small server up to 24 GB for modpacks and larger communities. Upgrade later and pay only the difference.

  • Low ping in Europe

Frankfurt is central: ping from major European cities is mostly between 10 and 35 ms. See the measurements below.

  • Full root access

Install Java, Paper, Fabric, Forge or a Bedrock server, or a free game panel such as Pterodactyl. It is your server.

  • Your own IPv4

Players connect to your dedicated IPv4 address on the default port: 25565 for Java, 19132 for Bedrock.

  • Basic DDoS protection

Included on our IPv4 addresses. It filters common attacks; very large attacks can still cause packet loss while they last.

Measured ping

Ping to our Frankfurt network

Average of 3 real pings from Globalping probes in each city, measured on 25 October 2026. The network page shows the map, refreshed every 3 minutes, and a test IP you can ping yourself.

  • Paris 10.2 ms
  • Milan 17.9 ms
  • London 18.2 ms
  • Stockholm 18.4 ms
  • Amsterdam 18.5 ms
  • Vienna 20.4 ms
  • Warsaw 22.1 ms
  • Dublin 24.7 ms
  • Madrid 33.6 ms
  • Istanbul 37.8 ms
  • Moscow 42.0 ms

Start a Minecraft Java server

Install Ubuntu 24.04 from the control panel and log in. Install Java first: Minecraft 1.20.5 and newer need Java 21 or later, so check what your version needs.

apt update && apt install -y openjdk-21-jre-headless screen
adduser --disabled-password --gecos "" minecraft
su - minecraft

As the minecraft user, download the server jar for your version (from minecraft.net for vanilla, or papermc.io for Paper) and start it once. It creates eula.txt; set eula=true in it and start the server again inside screen, so it keeps running after you log out:

screen -S mc
java -Xms2G -Xmx3G -jar server.jar nogui

Give Java about 1 GB less than your plan's RAM so the system keeps some memory for itself (the example above suits a 4 GB plan). If you use a firewall, allow the game port: ufw allow 25565/tcp for Java or ufw allow 19132/udp for Bedrock.

Which plan for your server?

  • A few friends, vanilla or Paper: 4 GB RAM is usually enough, ideally on the Ryzen plan for its fast cores.
  • Modpacks or a bigger community: 8 to 16 GB RAM. EPYC Virtual-3 and Virtual-4 give you that at a low price.
  • Large modpacks or several servers: 24 GB or more, or a dedicated server.

Not sure? Start smaller: upgrades only cost the price difference, and the 7-day money-back guarantee lets you test with your own world.

Self-managed: what that means

We run the hardware, the network and the control panel, and help with anything on our side. We don't offer a Minecraft control panel or help with plugins and mods, so you should be comfortable with Linux, or install a free game panel yourself. Our guide to the first steps on a new VPS covers updates, users and the firewall. We don't offer backups, so back up your world regularly.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I host a Minecraft server on your VPS?

Yes. Java and Bedrock servers, Paper, Fabric and Forge all run on our KVM VPS. You install and manage the server yourself; we don't provide a Minecraft panel or game support.

Ryzen or EPYC for Minecraft?

Minecraft relies heavily on single-core speed, so the Ryzen 9 9950X is the better choice when it is in stock. EPYC plans give you more RAM for the money, which helps with modpacks and larger worlds.

How much RAM does my Minecraft server need?

As a rough guide: 4 GB for a small vanilla or Paper server with a few friends, 8 to 12 GB for modpacks or bigger groups, and more for large modpacks or several servers. View distance and plugins matter as much as the number of players.

Is my Minecraft server protected against DDoS attacks?

Basic DDoS protection is included on our IPv4 addresses and filters common attacks. Very large attacks can still cause packet loss while they last.

Can I upgrade my plan later?

Yes. Open a ticket and we will move your VPS to a larger plan; you only pay the price difference.

What happens if I use up my monthly traffic?

Your server keeps running, and its speed is limited to 625 Kbps until the next month. There are no extra charges. If you need more traffic, you can upgrade to a larger plan.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee from your order date, for all payment methods. Just open a ticket within 7 days.
